I cannot get on with this product. I've tried and tried, but no matter what I do it just seems to sink into pores (which I didn't even know where there before I applied it) and it clings onto the tiny hairs on my face which makes the application uneven & odd looking.
I've never tried any of the other coloured MSF's from MAC (I've used the MSF naturals with the neutral shimmery strips on the sides and I love those!) so I don't know if it's just this one that I don't like or whether I'd feel the same about all the coloured ones.
I dropped it and ended up smashing it so I've crushed it up and put it into little jars which just fire sparkly powder everywhere every time I open them so I'm not even attempting to try using it now. Massive waste of money! continued >>

I have like 5 back-ups lol, that's how much I love it & I own around 20 MSF's total including Pleasureflush, Lightscapade, Blonde, Shimpagne, Triple Fusion but this is my fave. I look like a supermodel with it on. Not shimmery or glittery but just the right amount of sheen. I know a lot of people like to highlight with Nars Albatross but I hate that color (at least on me). continued >>

I like this highlighter. Looks good on anyskin because it has purple, brown, champain, salmon, orangy pearly colours and it's very flattering.
This does not cause any break outs on my skin, does not look caky and you get 10g of product (great amount).
The only two complains about it are:
    1) like any other MSF, it has no mirror. I would love those with a mirror.
    2) It's a little bit too much highlighting for me. I don't have this problem with other highlithers. I just take a little bit of product, tap off to avoid any excess and apply it... and I end up looking too shinny.
If it was not a discontinued product I would not buy it again because I would try to find something that would work best for me as a highlight.

I have wanted this product for quite some time, and I finally got my hands on one. I have to say I was a bit disappointed w/ this product. While it is absolutely GORGEOUS in the pan, i find it to be a normal highlighter. If gives you a nice glow, has no chunky glitter, very fine shimmer, and easy to blend. I will not re-purchase this due to the fact that it just isn't unique enough on the skin. If you don't own a highlighter, I would definitely get it if you can your hands on it. I feel like you can find highlighting products all over the place from many different brands both low end and high end. If you are not a collector, don't waste your money and go with a cheaper highlighter.

The Mineralize Skinfinish in Perfect Topping is probably the only thing from MAC that I own that is truly outstanding. So outstanding, in fact, that I got a backup a week after purchasing my first example! It is discontinued, but you can find it on eBay and even in online stores if you're lucky. I was fortunate enough to have bought both of mine on eBay for not much over the original selling price.

The reason that pushed me towards purchasing it were the glowing reviews and raves this received on MUA and on several other sites and blogs. 'The perfect glow', a lot of people said... and this ultimately swayed me. I owned a few highlighters, and they were either too glittery or had an unnatural sheen tp them. NARS Albatross, for example, is to golden for me. Perfect Topping is very similar in texture and milling to the NARS, but appears mostly as the lightest beige glow on my skin. Perfect indeed!

But the nicest bonus is how lovely it looks in the pan. Its mélange of different colours reminds me of the surface of an undiscovered planet made up from gas... with its clouds twisting and turning in the atmosphere... like a colourful version of Jupiter. The outer, plastic packaging itself is just generic, which I don't like much. On the plus side, it seems sturdy.

If you're after something that offers the perfect glow in one swipe, this is it. The only thing that I might prefer to Perfect Topping is my Smashbox Soft Fusion Light in Baked Stardust, which is subtler, but also a bit of a pain to make it show up. Overall, both products are winners, and I love them equally!

Got this at the cco after reading all the good reviews. Its very pretty to look at, mine has a nice mix of all the different colors. its a wonderful highlighter, soft and silky and gives a pretty, noticable (but not over the top) glow. I find myself reaching for it more than my previous favorite, by candlelight. Ill probably pick up another one at the cco as a backup pretty soon before they are all gone.

LOVE!! Its different from my other shimmer gold-like highlighters. I think this is so much more versatile than Lightscapade, which always looked a little ghostly and white on top of my blushes. This melds perfectly with all my matte blushes. Lovely violety-bronze-champagne glow! I did have to pay more for this on ebay than seems acceptable, so I will only repurchase if it is re-promoted.

This is like a powder version of high beam! I layer them together to make it more dramatic. I use this on the highest part of my cheekbones + down my nose to get that glowy, dewy look. All of the colors in the pan blend together beautifully to make a very pretty sheen. If you can find perfect topping, get it!!

Perfect Topping is so pretty! It's not really frosty, just glowy. I use this on the highest part of my cheekbones + down my nose. It doesn't look oily at all. It looks really awesome in the pan, so i reach for this a lot. I like it better than high beam since i can just put this on without blending. Its expensive, but it will last me years. Its limited edition, but im sure some stores still have it

The best highlight in the world - seriously. It's a beautiful peachy color with a hint of violet. It goes on incredibly sheer but you can build up to the glow you desire. I like to use this with a peachy pink blush, then I put my setting powder on overtop for a subtle glow. I have already repurchased this because I love it so much.

This looks so pretty in the pan, and really pretty on. I use this to highlight the highest part of my cheekbones, and on the tip of my nose to add a really nice glow, without looking oily. I do wish mine had more lavender in it, but I still love this product. It's sort of like Benefit High Beam, but less dramatic. Of course like all good MAC products, this is LE.

I LOVEEEEE this MSF. It is so different than all the other highlighters and MSFs that MAC has. It really just gives a glowy look on the skin and it's not glittery. It just makes you luminous. I REALLY hope it becomes part of the permanent line. I am going to stock up at the Cosmetic Company Outlets!!!

I own a few MSFs, but Perfect Topping remains one of my favourites. First, and perhaps most importantly, the texture is excellent. It's one of the least gritty MSFs I think MAC have produced, so you can rest easy in the knowledge that you won't end up covered in glitter!
Of course, I also adore the colour. Mine has a bit more lavender veining than most, which I'm really happy with. It gives me a golden apricot, sun-kissed glow and people often comment on my skin looking really healthy and radiant when I wear it. I'm pretty pale, roughly an NC15 (I currently wear MUFE HD 115 for reference), and I can apply this without worrying about it looking over the top. I tend to only use it on my cheeks or cheekbones, and I usually layer it over a blush like Cubic, which is a muted, dusty pink. I have a fairly oily t-zone, so I don't tend to apply any type of shimmer to chin or nose. I've used it on people with darker and warmer skintones than mine and it looks fabulous on them, too, although the effect is a little more subtle. If you can't tell, I love this stuff!

Most beautiful MSF to use and to look at! Haha.
I got two of them. One has a lot lavender tone, and the other has more creamy pinky tone. Both gorgeous. Before I bought them, I was thinking about using them as a highlighter. But when MA tried it on myself at the counter, she put it (I mean a lot!) all over my face. I got a bit scared when she did it, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the result. The fine shimmer of Perfect Topping added my NC20 skin a healthy glow. Very lovely. Since then, I'm a fan! I highly recommend. =)

This is my first MAC product. I have to say I really like it! I wanted to buy "Refined" but it was out of stock when I purchased this, and anyway the sa told me it would be a better shade for my coloring. She was right. It's a really nice goldish-pinkish-peachy shade and the texture of it is really soft. I am really glad that I bought this MSF, because I was testing a few other MSFs and they were full of chunky glitters wich I don't really like on my cheeks...
Overall this is a great product, perfect for highlighting, but I only use it when my skin is clear(er than the usual) since it can accentuate big pores and blemishes.
And I have to add that for its price MAC should include a mirror in MSF's packiging...

This is my favorite MSF. I bought it for $19 at CCO. It is a light pale pink. It works fantastic as a highlighter. I also layer this over a blush to give it some dimension by adding a sheen.

I love this MSF. I started with Revlon Brighten Mineral Finishing Powder and really liked it but wanted a more intense highlighter (while still being neutral/pinkish).
Perfect Topping is a great pink-champagne toned highlight. The bismuth kinda hurts my pores but if I wear it over liquid foundation thats no big deal. It can look cakey imo if layered over liquid though. I wish the bismuth did not make my face so hot. I wanted to try a msfn too but probably won't.
I think that Revlon Brighten is comparable to this, although it is a more silvery/yellow toned product when swatched (although it looks pink in the pan).

"Perfect", indeed! This is the first and only MSF I've bought, and I'm so happy with this that I doubt I'll need another - this one is absolutely my HG highlighter. Perfect Topping has a very pretty, finely-milled peachy-champagne shimmer that looks great on my pale skin dusted over cheekbones, browbones, tear ducts, bow of lips...yeah, I use this stuff everywhere. The shimmer is subtle - previous reviews have used the term "candlelit glow" to describe Perfect Topping's effect, and that's pretty accurate.

LOVE this MSF! It's the perfect cheekbone highlight for me. I don't know what it is about the texture of this MSF, but it's definitely one of my favorites. It will last a long time, too! Well worth the money. I would definitely buy again when I run out and one is available. =)
